Kiteboarding is the fun, action packed sport many of you have seen on the lakeshores. You ride a board similar to a surfboard or wakeboard which is powered by a kite that is powered strictly by the wind, letting out zero carbon emissions. The sport is relatively easy to learn with proper instructions we often see clients up on board after 1-3 sessions. Safety is number one at Chicago Kite Lessons and our track record shows that. Our lessons are taught mostly in Waukegan, IL a short drive north of the city to a beautiful wide open beach which is ideal for teaching kiteboarding.

We offer a variety of different lessons depending on your skills and what you would like covered starting at just $100. We stride to personalize each lesson to your specific skills/goals you want to cover for the day.
We have taught kids as young as 12 as well as adults in their 60's. So YES you can learn too :)
All clients will have to sign waiver forms before the lesson. Anyone under 18 will need to have a parent/guardian with them.

We are priced well below the competition. Many other schools charge anywhere from a few hundred a day ($100+ an hour) to well over a thousand for lessons, gear rental, etc. and you don’t even get 1:1 ratio instruction which significantly slows the learning curve. We have a track record of quality instruction at the best prices in the area with the lowest instructor to client ratio. A little about myself, Henry Lazerow as owner of ChicagoKiteLessons I have been kiteboarding for 8 years. I grew up teaching snowboarding. I have always had a strong passion for the sport of kiteboarding and teaching.
Thanks to Henry, I was able to get my land training and quickly get in the water. He was able to judge my comfort level accurately and help me get into the water as soon as possible. He is not only nice, but knowledgeable about people and the sport. I can’t wait to kite surf again. His lessons are worth every penny.

This is a 2 hour course. This is the place to start your new addiction to the sport of kiteboarding !!! We go over rigging, line management, flying techniques, kiteboarding safety, self rescue, rider responsibility and trainer kite flying. By the end of this lesson you will confidentially be flying a small kite and able to rig and de rig a large traction kite by yourself as well as the other skills I just mentioned. All gear is supplied. No wetsuit is required as this is a land lesson. Be sure to bring sunglasses/sun screen as you will be looking up at the kite. During this lesson we can answer any questions you may have about the sport. We also include a free follow up consultation on what gear would be best for you after individually meeting you during the lesson. $100
Water Lessons: This is a water lesson for those who have either taken the intro course or already have the skills. During this 1:1 or at most 1:2 instructors to client ratio lesson we will focus on your individual goals in a safe and controlled environment. The rates are just $150 for a 2 hour lesson if you bring your own gear (Additional hours priced accordingly at clients request). For gear rental add +$25 an hour. The gear you use will be up to date high depower kites. We have all different size kites depending on your weight and the local conditions. Minimum of 2 hours and we can do up to 5 hours.
2 Day Kite Camps:
In the 2 day camp, we will go over all the skills taught and mentioned above in the introduction and water lessons combined and then some. The goal of this lesson is too transform you into a kite boarder :) We also will provide lunch and refreshments. Lesson is for 2+ people, group discounts can be applied. $500 per student
1 Day Kite Camps:
Single day camp, we will go over all the skills taught and mentioned above in the introduction and water lessons combined and then some. The goal of this lesson is too transform you into a kite boarder :) Lesson is for 2+ people, group discounts can be applied. $300 per student
